October update
We haven't made as much progress in the last month as previous, but here are the latest developments:
We now have a facebook site which you can like, to follow all of our developments in bitesize and also to help you develop ideas about how we go about the trip. We are currently in the process of creating a justgiving page, for our selected charity epilepsy action.
Sadly, Charlie has had to pull out of the trip, and we are therefore looking for a new member. Charlie has helped greatly with our progress to the point we are at now, and I personally would like to thank him for his effort with us.

A couple of practice routes
Whilst all of us are yet to encounter the mountains of the scottish highlands amongst others, Sevenoaks, as it turns out, isn't a bad spot to start training. The town is built on a number of hills that I've found perfect to start training on. The maps to the right (click to enlarge) show the three routes I've practiced predominantly so far:Update
Well it's been a long time since the last post, and a lot has taken place since then!
Firstly, we start with some sad news. A good friend of ours at TWGSB, Will Carus, passed away after drowning in the Thames during a kayak race at the end of July. As well as holding a passion for kayaking, Will was a keen cyclist and general all-round nice guy. Myself, Tom and Ed attended his memorial service, and we think it would fitting to honour his memory by donating all proceeds to Epilepsy Action, the charity nominated by his family at the service.
We have also practiced a couple of routes to get started training wise, including a nice 10-mile ride that passes through Sevenoaks town all the way back down to Chevening, before turning around once again. Whilst we'll be facing pretty much an unknown in terms of hills on the way between John O' Groats and Lands End, our 10-mile circuit taken between 30-45 minutes, and hopefully at this kind of pace we should be able to make decent progress each day.
Finally, we have found the Jerseys that we are likely to use, from the website 'cycle-clothing UK'. We have also found a place to print names and logos onto our jerseys, and otherwise we're looking at other options.
Keep checking back to the site for more frequent updates!

The Team
It gives me great pleasure to finally announce the rest of the team who will be making the journey. We all have decent cycling experience - albeit from different fields. A support team will (hopefully) be announced soon as well, but for now here are the provisional seven who will be making the journey:
- Angus Wyatt
- Charlie Conn
- Ed Davies
- Jack Cozens
- Joe Obeney
- Joffie Shea
- Tom Charlton

Welcome!
Welcome to the site! We're in the early stages of the process, having just started to assemble a team. In the coming days, weeks and months, we'll bring you updates from how our plans are progressing, who will be involved and allow you to donate to support our journey.
The Sevenoaks Seven will comprise of - quite obviously - seven riders from the Sevenoaks area, and as a group we will make the trip from John o' Groats in Scotland, to Landsend in Cornwall over fourteen days in order to raise money for charity - which will later be confirmed.
Come back soon to see how the plans are progressing!
